JETS IN CONVOY ON URAL RIVER

 

The three Jets were recently seen in convoy coming back to the Passenger Terminal on the Ural River in Atyrau from D Isalnd at Kashagan Offshore Development and they looked very impressive with CM Jet 1 taking the lead followed by CM Jet 2 and CM Jet 5 taking up the rear.

 

 

 

 

 

May 2011 - 

CM JET 5 "GETS A LIFT"

 

Caspian Mainport has taken delivery the latest vessel in its fleet CM Jet 5 which is a large 210 passenger high speed catemaran which has been chartered to Saipem./Ersai for the Kashagan project in Kazakhstan. This vessel was lifted onto the cargo vessel Amythest in Busam Korea for its voyage to the Caspian and is now on route to Kazakhstan where it will enter operations into the High Speed Division joining CM Jet 1 and 2 in carrying offshore workers to and from the offshore development. The vessel will operate out of the port of Atyrau on the Northern Caspian coast on the Ural River.

  

 

May 2011 -

1,000,000 MANHOURS WITHOUT LTI ACHIEVED

At the end May 2011 Caspian Mainport reached a milestone in terms of Lost Time Incidents. We have now achived a clean record since the company started business of Zero LTI's and 1,000,000 manhours wihtout LTI. Thsi is a fantastic record and reinforced the safety ethois in the Comaopny that exists and is a credit to the complete team.

 

Dec 2010 - STOP Card December Award made to 2nd Mate Kuliyev Shohrat on the CM Supporter in Turkmenistan.

 

 

 

 

Sept 2010 - The latest vessel to join the fleet is the ERRV/MRV/Supply Vessel Ocean Tern which has recently departed Cork in Ireland and it is currently transiting towards the Black Sea where it will proceed to Kazakhstan to join the CM Italia on Charter to KMTF/N-Operating Co supporting the Maersk Explorer Rig. This vessel will be providing a full ERRV provision to the drilling programme as well as providing supply capability as it can carry liquid Mus, Dry Bulk as well as Fuel for the drilling campaign. Whilst the vessel was being prepared for transit the Azerbaijan crew took the opportunity to carry out  Fast Rescue Craft training.

 

        

 

                        

 

 

 

Sept 2010 - CM Italia has now started its Charter in Kazakhstan with KMTF/N-Operating Co supporting the Maersk Explorer Rig drilling programme and will remain there until the end of the year. The vessel is now operating under the Kazakhstan Flag.

 

 

June 2010 - CM Italia has arrived in Baku International Seaport for reinstatement of its masts and fire monitor tower which were removed for the the canal transit to the Caspian. The vessel is an 80t BP AHTS and will be used for rig anchor handling and jacket towout projects in the Caspian along with the sister vessel CM Cormorant which is due in Baku later on this month. On the same day CM Wulf arrived in Baku for a crew change having sailed from Kazakhstan on what was its first visit to Azerbaijan since its arrival in the Caspian in 2008.

 

                                     

 

May 2010 - Caspian Mainport is please to announce that it has taken delivery of its latest vessels CM Italia and CM Cormorant which are 80t Bollard Pull AHTS's and these vessel are currently on route to the Black Sea/Sea of Azov to then transit into the Caspian Sea via the Volga Don Canal System. The are expected to arrive in the caspian around 1st June to commence Charters there.

 

 

May 2010 - The Turkmenistan operation is now in full swing as all the vessels which were on stand by over the winter in Baku have now sailed across to Turkmenbashi for the start of the project. The CM Annie and CM Eagle carried out the tow of the Bumi Armada Lay-barge stinger and the CM Heather carried out a tandem tow of the barges M50 and M3610. CM Supporter accompanied the tow and took spares and equipment for the project on the crossing. 

 

 

 

April 2010 - The  CM Jet and CM Jet 2 are now back in action operating from Atyrau transporting offshore personnel to and from Kashagan Offshore development. The vessels were laid up for the winter in Kurik Port and have recently been retruned to the water having completed winter maintenance and a routine Main Engine change out.

 

 

March 2010 - Caspian Mainport Ltd is delighted to announce the approval of Branch Registration in Turkmenistan. The Company now has established branches in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan giving full coverage of the offshore oil and gas sectors in the Caspian Region and with the highest levels of local managers and staff. 

 

December 2009 - CM Annie, CM Eagle, CM Heather, CM Supporter and the barges M50 and M3610 arrive in Baku in preparation for the Petronas Project start up in early 2010 in Turkmenistan. The vessel swill spend some time in Baku undergoing upgrades to their communication equipment and also fthere are scehduled dry dock works to be completed. The project is scheduled to start in early 2010 and the vessels will then depart to the project site. The vessels will be crewed with 100% Turkmeni nationals and an extensive training programme is underway for all staff involved in the project. 

 

            

 

November 2009 - CM Jet 1 and CM Jet 2 end first seasons operations of transportation from Atyrau to Kashagan.  The vessels arrival in June have led to new standards of reliability and comfort moving workers to and from the Kashagan field. The vessels are also performing inter-field operations and providing day-trip capability from Kashagan to Bautino. 

 

           

 

October 2009 - Four new ships purchased in 10 days.  CMI Caspian Ltd wins contract, together with Integrated Petroleum Services Ltd of Malaysia, to provide 3 modern 45 ton bollard pull tugs and a PSV to support the 2010 field development work for Petronas/MMHE/Technip in Turkmenistan.  The vessels are all being mobilised into the Caspian for lay-up during Winter 2009 and scheduled for commencement of operations around February 2010.  In conjunction with this contract, Caspian Mainport Ltd will open offices in Ashgabat and Turkmenbashi through a Turkmenistan branch which will support these vessel operations. 

 

 

     

 

 

 

June 2009 - Caspian Mainport is delighted to announce the arrival of its latest two acquisitions in Kazakhstan.  The CM Jet 1 and CM Jet 2 were purchased from Red Funnel Group in the UK and are high speed ( 36 knot) catamaran passenger ferries each capable of carrying 140 passengers. These vessels were loaded on a cargo vessel in Southampton where they previously operated under British flag and transported to St Petersburg for onward shipment to Kazakhstan where they will operate a service carrying offshore personnel to and from Atyrau to the offshore Kashagan  Field. A major upgrade took place in Southampton before departure and the pictures below show the loading and the departure as the cargo vessel "MV La Rochelle" passes the Queen Mary 2 in Southampton.

 

 

 

 

August 2008 - Caspian Mainport fleet takes delivery of its fourth vessel purchased in four months. The C.M. Service is a Platform Supply Vessel but has the added advantage of having a 40 tonne pedestal crane on the aft deck making it particularly suitable for Kashagan operations as it can discharge its own deck cargo.  The vessel also has a 24 man passenger accommodation module fitted to enable passenger transportation. 

 

August 2008 - The latest addition to the Caspian Mainport fleet (C.M. Mehran) arrives in Bautino having sailed from Karachi via Suez and the Black Sea. The vessel was built in 2003 and is a 44 tonne Bollard Pull AHT and will be used by Saipem in support of its operations Offshore Kazakhstan. The vessel was selected due to its Shallow Draft, high horse power and manoeuvrability.

 

May 2008 - Caspian Mainport expands its fleet with the purchase of the C.M.Trader which is a 2,700 tonne Product Oil Tanker. This vessel joins the Kazakhstan fleet and is utilised by Saipem on the Kashagan Project carrying diesel fuel and technical water in support of the Hook up and Commissioning Project. The vessel has a 10 man crew and operates on a year-round basis located at the Kashagan oilfield.

 

May 2008 - 

Caspian Mainport holds it first Staff Conference held in the Hyatt Hotel, Baku with all off duty senior officers attending plus new members of staff comprising 5 Masters, 4 Mates, 6 Chief Engineers, 4 2nd Engineers and 1 Bosun and 1 AB . 

This was an opportunity for Management to meet the staff first hand and have a complete day where Safety/QA/ISO Topics could be discussed as well as providing a forum to inform all about the Group and fleet expansion programmes. 

 

The Topics covered were as follows:

  • Policies and Procedures including Mission Statement   
  • ISO/ISM   
  • Group areas of business   
  • Caspian Mainport International areas of business   
  • Organisation   
  • Fleet   
  • Reporting and Tracking Safety and Performance

This was followed by each employee then giving a brief introduction into their own background and experience. 

 

The conference finished with a Question and Answer session and the feedback given was that this was an excellent opportunity to get all together and has become a regular event as extremely worthwhile as an additional element over and above the group’s quarterly management meetings.

 

 

 

 

January 2008 -  Caspian Mainport continues its fleet expansion with the acquisition of another vessel (delivery April 2008). This is a specialist Ultra Shallow Draft Ice Strengthened Anchor Handling Tug "Taucher O Wulf 10" which is now renamed "C.M.Wulf". The vessel operates in the North Caspian specialising in survey and support roles.  

 

 

December 2007 - Caspian Mainport completes the acquisition of the DP1 ROV/Dive Survey Vessel "Freya" now renamed C.M.Surveyor. The vessel was delivered in Bahrain and is currently operating offshore Saudi Arabia with Algosaibi Diving and Marine Services (ADAMS) as a Dive Support/ROV vessel. The crew is all Azeri offering traditional expertise at a competitive cost. This continues the worldwide expansion of operations for the Group.

 

August 2007 - Caspian Mainport successfully completes the Charter to AgipKCO of two converted flat top barges  previously provided in 2006 on a fast track basis involving planning and construction to the highest standards of cuttings containers followed by successful operation and implementation over the 10 month project with no LTI's

July 2007 - Caspian Mainport purchases a brand new flat top barge in Holland. The barge renamed "C.M.2007" and provides Saipem with an offshore work platform for construction support on the Kashagan Field in Kazakhstan. The MOA with owners was signed on 26th June 2007. The barge departed Holland on 28th June transited St Petersburg 4th July and arrived in Kazakhstan and went on hire on 25th July. A remarkable achievement for the Company proving that a privately owned company can move very fast into action to ensure rapid delivery of a barge for a customer.

April 2007 -  Caspian Mainport takes delivery of the AHT "C.M.Kurik" in Cork, Ireland. The vessel is mobilised from Cork to Kazakhstan to commence work in Kurik Port supporting Saipem’s operation from the base . The vessel is crewed with a mix of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan nationals which further emphasises Caspian Mainport commitment to maximising the use of local personnel in the areas in which it operates.
