November 2009 -  CM Jet 1 and CM Jet 2 end first seasons operations of transportation from Atyrau to Kashagan.  The vessels arrival in June have led to new standards of reliability and comfort moving workers to and from the Kashagan field. The vessels are also performing inter-field operations and providing day-trip capability from Kashagan to Bautino.

October 2009 - Four new ships purchased in 10 days.  CMI Caspian Ltd wins contract, together with Integrated Petroleum Services Ltd of Malaysia, to provide 3 modern 45 ton bollard pull tugs and a PSV to support the 2010 field development work for Petronas/MMHE/Technip in Turkmenistan.  The vessels are all being mobilised into the Caspian for lay-up during Winter 2009 and scheduled for commencement of operations around February 2010.  In conjunction with this contract, Caspian Mainport Ltd will open offices in Ashgabat and Turkmenbashi through a Turkmenistan branch which will support these vessel operations.

June 2009 - Caspian Mainport is delighted to announce the arrival of its latest two acquisitions in Kazakhstan.  The CM Jet 1 and CM Jet 2 were purchased from Red Funnel Group in the UK and are high speed ( 36 knot) catamaran passenger ferries each capable of carrying 140 passengers. These vessels were loaded on a cargo vessel in Southampton where they previously operated under British flag and transported to St Petersburg for onward shipment to Kazakhstan where they will operate a service carrying offshore personnel to and from Atyrau to the offshore Kashagan  Field. A major upgrade took place in Southampton before departure and the pictures below show the loading and the departure as the cargo vessel "MV La Rochelle" passes the Queen Mary 2 in Southampton.

August 2008 - Caspian Mainport fleet takes delivery of its fourth vessel purchased in four months. The C.M. Service is a Platform Supply Vessel but has the added advantage of having a 40 tonne pedestal crane on the aft deck making it particularly suitable for Kashagan operations as it can discharge its own deck cargo.  The vessel also has a 24 man passenger accommodation module fitted to enable passenger transportation.

August 2008 - The latest addition to the Caspian Mainport fleet (C.M. Mehran) arrives in Bautino having sailed from Karachi via Suez and the Black Sea. The vessel was built in 2003 and is a 44 tonne Bollard Pull AHT and will be used by Saipem in support of its operations Offshore Kazakhstan. The vessel was selected due to its Shallow Draft, high horse power and manoeuvrability.

May 2008 - Caspian Mainport expands its fleet with the purchase of the C.M.Trader which is a 2,700 tonne Product Oil Tanker. This vessel joins the Kazakhstan fleet and is utilised by Saipem on the Kashagan Project carrying diesel fuel and technical water in support of the Hook up and Commissioning Project. The vessel has a 10 man crew and operates on a year-round basis located at the Kashagan oilfield.

The Topics covered were as follows:

  • Introduction to Mainport Group
  • Policies and Procedures including Mission Statement
  • ISO/ISM
  • Group areas of business
  • Caspian Mainport International areas of business

  • The future

This was followed by each employee then giving a brief introduction into their own background and experience.
